I don’t think it’s going to be one of my favorite movies. However, I’d call it an extremely good movie. The Coen Brothers are experts at delivering a screenplay with just enough dialogue. Spielberg hits all of the story beats with direction and cinematography that manages to avoid much in the way of obvious trickery. Hanks as Donnovan, is in good form as a character who’s half Atticus Finch and half salesman. If Spies has any faults, it’s that setting up the main conflict takes almost half of the movie.
